Reach Winona County Record Holders

Winona County Busted Mugshots is a private reference, not a government office. It cannot confirm whether someone is in custody or released, obtain or certify official records, post bond, or arrange a release. Direct those matters to the office that holds the record or manages the custody decision.

Official Winona Records Routes

The Winona County Sheriff’s Office is the county starting point for Sheriff-handled arrest and incident records. Its Records Division is reached at 507-457-6368, and written requests may be sent to 201 W Third Street, Winona, MN 55987. The Sheriff says the office operates 24 hours; its lobby hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Sheriff records FAQ and the county’s public-records request page explain the formal records routes and the limits that can apply to protected material.

For jail information, use the Winona County Detention Center, 203 W 3rd Street, Winona, MN 55987, at 507-457-6503. Jail Administrator Steve Buswell is listed at 507-457-6377. These contacts do not promise that a request can be completed by telephone. In an emergency, call 911. For a non-emergency law-enforcement matter, use the county line at 507-457-6491.

  • For a point-in-time custody check, open the official WCDC inmate roster. A missing name does not itself confirm a release or resolve a case.
  • For an arrest, incident, or booking record, start with the Sheriff’s records FAQ or the county public-records request route and identify the person, date, agency, and record sought.
  • For a booking photo, qualifying media may use the county’s Media Booking Photo Requests form. Other requesters should ask the Records Division about access under Minnesota’s data-practices rules.
  • For a court case or final disposition, search Minnesota Court Records Online. A scheduled court date is not proof that a hearing occurred or a case ended.
  • For state custody or supervision after a county case, use the MN DOC public viewer. It is not a replacement for the WCDC roster.
  • For federal or ICE custody when facts point to those systems, use the BOP inmate locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator.
